I started this FaucetHub review quite a while ago and there have been BIG changes afoot since then – if you scroll down to nearer the bottom you will see what I’m talking about when I say farewell fabulous FaucetHub – this is NOT goodbye! I have left the rest of the article as it was (because I wrote it dammit!) but I’ve italicised it to make it easier to see where it finishes and the new info starts and I’ve disabled the links because they are a bit pointless until the new site is up and running. I will update the faucet owner’s links I have mentioned below when I know what is happening although I think you can still withdraw to your own wallet if you have one.
I love FaucetHub, it’s a great place to spend some time, lovely people, helpful and kind. It’s where Code wields his dread Ban Hammer and where I first met Cryptowomble aka Sheriffwomble and Mdshare the sources of most of my current knowledge of crypto insomuch as it is! They have freely given me their time and knowledge for which I am truly grateful. I also met the lovely www.jils8.net (I hope I got that right, flower) who steered me in the right direction with her faucet list which she has personally tried out and her own faucets which you can access here. Cryptowomble also has his own faucets here try them out.
You may wonder at the ‘funny’ names above, FaucetHubians as I like to call them are anonymous, there are chat rules that must be read and followed on joining and they include anonymity even down to whether someone is a girl or a boy – on FHub I am known as Scotcoin1000000aire.
Diving straight in to the lovely world of FaucetHub, there is a LOT going on in here – after you’ve signed up and logged in to your member dashboard your first stop should be the chat rules, they are situated above the chat panel. When you have read and understood them then make your way to the wallet addresses tab so you can generate your wallet addresses and link them to FaucetHub. There are hundreds of faucets that pay out directly to FaucetHub, I have reviewed and claim from a fair number of them myself (see my other reviews and my referrals page* for details and access), I tend to trust sites that are linked to FaucetHub as I see it as an additional security measure for my coin against site closure. (THIS REASON ALONE MAKES THE BELOW INFO A BIG BLOW TO MY CONFIDENCE WITH REGARD TO FAUCET CLAIMS)
FaucetHub is a very well run, established site owned by MexicanTarget. It was started in November 2016 and has 1,855,445 members of which 25, 000+ are active everyday (including me!). FaucetHub is accepted worldwide with no restrictions making it, IMO the best microwallet around.
Chat is available in several languages but you must use the language of the chat room you are in i.e if you’re in the English chat room, spk English, if you’re in the Spanish chat room spk Spanish etc. This is one of the above mentioned chat rules, follow it or you WILL be ban hammered!
When you’re logged into your FaucetHub account and on your member dashboard, you will notice a wee red umbrella in the bottom right hand corner of the chat room, when you start claiming crypto from the myriad faucets available (which can be found under the faucet tab) and chatting to people these actions will cause the wee umbrella to turn green. When your umbrella is green you are eligible to receive ‘rain’ from the rain pool located under the chat room panel. Half the contents are rained down every hour on eligible participants.
(Embarrassing story – when I first joined I thought the rain pool balance was MY balance and couldn’t understand why it kept going down so I asked in the chat panel and was kindly informed what it was all about, boy was my face red!)
The rain pool is filled by various contributors indeed you can contribute yourself if you have some crypto you don’t mind giving away! It’s polite to thank whomever provided the rain but do this by putting their name into the chat NOT by clicking on the server button that announces the rain – ‘talking to servers’ is an offence that will cause you to feel the weight of CODE’S Ban Hammer!
HOLD THE PHONE!
SAY IT AIN’T SO!
FAUCETHUB AS WE KNOW IT IS UNDERGOING A SORT OF FORCED REBRANDING AND REORGANISATION DUE TO UNAVOIDABLE NEW REGULATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE BY THE PEOPLE WHO REGULATE STUFF! NO MORE ALTCOIN CLAIMS NO MORE BTC EXCHANGING, THE COUNTDOWN HAS ALREADY BEGUN AND FINISHES ON 10 DECEMBER 2019. IF YOU HAVE ANY BALANCES THERE YOU NEED TO GET THEM OUT PRONTO.
THERE WILL BE OFFERWALL SERVICES AVAILABLE ON THE NEW PLATFORM AND OPTIONS FOR PUBLISHERS TO EARN FROM THEIR TRAFFIC AS WELL AS FOR RESEARCHERS AND ADVERTISERS TO PROMOTE/PERFORM TARGETED CRYPTO MARKET RESEARCH – YOU CAN READ THE FULL STORY ON THE LANDING PAGE AND MEXICANTARGET WILL BE UPDATING INTERESTED PEOPLE AT https://www.facebook.com/HostingForBitcoin
I’m so sad about this I’ve actually cried a bit, I cut my teeth at FaucetHub and it feels like the end of an era even though I’ve not actually been on there that long. I feel like I made some pals on there and I’m sure that whatever MexicanTarget does next will be bigger and better! I will review the new platform when it is up and running (there’s mention of a 2020 start date) I have kept in touch with some of the lovely people I’ve met but for now there’s only this left to say:-
Farewell FaucetHub and all who reside in her, bon voyage, ttfn, au revoir, arrivederci, sayonara, hasta luego…….to be continued.
For those of you looking for an alternative to FHub, a lot of people and faucets are migrating to expresscrypto.io which is apparently very similar to FHub and I will be checking it out and reviewing it shortly. If it passes muster I will include a link to it in the review.
Hope you enjoyed this review even though it was delivering sad news, if you have any questions about anything I’ve talked about please put them in the comments below and I’ll be happy to help in any way I can.
*In light of the recent changes I will be redoing my referrals page so I won’t be publishing it until a later date tba.
